Signing-up for 1095-B/1095-C E-Filing with the IRS

Signing-up for 1095-B/1095-C E-Filing with the IRS

BerniePortal makes it very easy to sign-up for e-filing! Navigate to your BerniePortal employer page and click “Sign-Up for E-Filing” on the home screen.

You will then be taken to a signature page to confirm the pricing:

The final cost is based on the number of 1095 forms generated, so you will not know the final cost until after you have generated your forms to be sent to the IRS for filing. You will not be charged until your forms are finalized and submitted.

You will then confirm your payment method, which should be your ACH information that is entered into BerniePortal.

If you do not have this information in BerniePortal, you will be prompted to enter it at this time. Your payment information will be stored securely.

You will then be provided with basic instructions on e-filing that we will break down further below.

You will be prompted to choose what tax forms you need to file:
  1. 1094-B/1095-B
  2. 1094-C/1095-C

We have provided guidelines from the IRS so you can choose the correct tax forms, and we also have this helpful resource. If you end up choosing the incorrect option, you can always go back and select the other option!

For employers who have used BerniePortal for all or some of the 12 calendar months of the year, e-filing will now be completed in four simple steps:
