Activate Account

New employee users are prompted to activate their account when added to BerniePortal. Prior to activation, the account is “locked” and does not allow any profile edits, masquerading into the account, or termination of the employee.

The “ACTIVATE” button is located in the employee’s action wheel.

This button is designed to alleviate the burden from employees that don’t activate their own accounts. You are now able to activate their account on their behalf.

You will be required to create a password for the account.

Once the account is activated, here are items that the system will allow:
  1. Admins can edit demographic information on the employee’s profile
  2. Admins can adjust the employee’s compensation
  3. Admins can edit any subgroup assignment
  4. If activated within the enrollment window period, the system will auto-close the employee’s enrollment at the end of the period.
  5. Admins can masquerade as the employee
  6. Admins can terminate the employee
