How to Resend an Employee's Activation Email or Redownload an Employee's Activation PDF

Activation instructions vary for employees who are added to BerniePortal via the "Onboard/New Hire" tool, depending on whether or not the employee's email was included during the onboarding process. 
  1. If the employee is onboarded with an email, the employee will receive an activation email at that address containing login instructions.
  2. If the employee is onboarded without an email, a PDF with activation instructions will generate and download after completing the required information. This should be provided to the employee so they can set up their BerniePortal account. 
If an employee forgets to activate their account, you can resend the original activation email, or redownload the PDF containing instructions on how to activate the account. Learn how below. 

To resend an employee's activation email:
  1. Select the "Employees" tab in the top navigation menu. 

  2. Locate the employee's name in the list. 
  3. Hover over the employee's action wheel and select "Resend Mail."

  4. If no changes are required to the employee's email address, select "Yes, resend this message."

  5. If you need to edit the employee's email address before resending the activation email, select "Edit", enter the email address, then select "Yes, resend this message."


To re-download an employee's PDF with activation instructions:
  1. Select the "Employees" tab in the top navigation menu. 

  2. Locate the employee's name in the list. 
  3. Hover over the employee's action wheel and select "Redownload PDF."

  4. A PDF with the employee's activation instructions will generate and download, which can be provided to the employee. 
  1. Note: If the PDF does not automatically download, check your browser's pop-up blocker settings.
