What is the Manage tab used for?

The Manage tab is your command center for reviewing and resolving carrier messages once integrations become Active. This is where carriers communicate discrepancies between their records and the enrollment information in BerniePortal.

Primary Purpose

Once a carrier integration moves to Active status and data is syncing between BerniePortal and the carrier, the Manage tab displays any messages the carrier sends about issues they've identified. These messages require your attention to ensure enrollment information remains accurate and employees maintain proper coverage.

Two Types of Messages

Carriers send two severity types of messages:

Failure Messages - Critical issues that block a member's enrollment and require immediate action to resolve. These must be addressed to ensure successful enrollment.

Warning Messages - Potential issues that aren't currently blocking enrollment but may cause problems in the future if not addressed.

Key Features

The Manage tab provides several tools to help you prioritize and resolve messages efficiently:

Filtering Options You can filter messages by:

  • Severity type (Failure or Warning)
  • Issue type
  • Carrier
  • Employer
  • Enrollment status

Last Sync Information The tab displays when each carrier last synced their data. Since carriers sync at different frequencies, this helps you understand how current the information is.

Message Details Each message shows:

  • The specific issue
  • Date the message was received
  • Which carrier sent it
  • Which employer and employee are affected
  • A description of the discrepancy
  • A "Resolve" action button

Who Can Use It

Both brokers/agencies and employers have access to resolve messages in the Manage tab. Employers see only their own organization's messages, while brokers can see messages across all their assigned employers.

For detailed information about resolving specific types of messages, see "How do I resolve carrier messages?" and related articles about Failure and Warning messages.
