Understanding the Benefits Subgroups Area

Subgroups allow employers to offer different benefits and contributions to different sets of employees. For example, at some companies, full-time employees may be entitled to more comprehensive benefits than part-time employees, which could impact deductions and pay frequencies. Benefit subgroups in BerniePortal help successfully accomplish this strategy.

In BerniePortal, benefits are subgroup based, meaning that you’ll have to attach plans to a specific subgroup in order to offer them to the appropriate employees.

Under the “Benefits” then “Subgroups” area, you’ll see all current Benefit Subgroups.
