Cloning Benefit Subgroups - Knowledge Base | BerniePortal

Cloning Benefit Subgroups

Cloning a benefits subgroup creates a new subgroup that copies the source subgroup’s settings and attached plans, so you do not have to rebuild the offer from scratch. For an overview of the Benefits Subgroups list, see Understanding the Benefits Subgroups Area.

Who can clone a benefits subgroup

Employers with Benefits enabled can clone a benefits subgroup. Users who are masquerading as the employer use the employer path.

To clone a benefits subgroup:
  1. Select Benefits in the top navigation menu.
  2. Select Subgroups in the secondary navigation menu.
  3. In the BENEFITS SUBGROUPS list, open the actions menu in the ACTIONS column for the subgroup you want to clone.
  4. Select Clone.
BerniePortal creates the new subgroup immediately, names it [original name] - copy, and returns you to Benefits → Subgroups.

The clone copies subgroup settings and attached plans for Current Offer and Upcoming Offer (including related rates and contribution settings). It does not assign employees to the new subgroup, and it does not copy Prior Offer.

Review the cloned subgroup and update any settings or plans that should differ from the source. See Benefit Subgroup Configuration Area.

To create a new benefits subgroup without copying an existing one, see How to Create a New Benefits Subgroup.
