Email Settings- Recruiting

BerniePortal's Recruiting feature has the ability to automatically send email communications to both candidates and employers throughout the application process. 

To access: 
  1. Log in to BerniePortal as the employer or a Recruiting feature administrator
  2. Select “Recruiting” in the top navigation menu
  3. Select “Settings” in the secondary menu
  4. Select “Email” in the left hand menu
  5.  

Applicant Welcome Email Customization
Every candidate who applies to a position through BerniePortal's recruiting feature will receive an automated welcome email confirming their successful application submission. While candidates receive a standard template by default, you can customize this message to reflect your organization's brand and tone.

To edit: 
  1. Review the existing template displayed in the messaging area- Make your desired changes within the text box
  2. Use the "Insert" tool to automatically populate emails with candidate-specific details—such as Candidate First Name—when the message is sent to new applicants

  3. All future welcome emails will automatically use your updated template

Employer Email Notifications
Employers can control how and when they receive notifications about new applicants!

To enable notifications: 
  1. Click the check box to select the desired notification option
    1. “Email when a new applicant applies to a position”- Interested parties receive an email each time a candidate applies
    2. “Email once a day if there are new applicants”-  Interested parties receive a consolidated daily update on new applications

  2. If an Employer does not want email notifications, leave both options unchecked

To set up interested parties: 
  1. Interested parties entered in this are will receive the email notification enabled in the Notification area
  2. Enter the Interested Party’s first and last name
  3. Enter the Interested Party’s email address
  4. Click “Add” in blue
