BerniePortal + JobTarget: Getting Started

BerniePortal Recruiting works with JobTarget to distribute jobs to job boards and to open JobTarget’s marketplace for additional advertising. Company and feed setup runs when Recruiting is enabled—you do not activate JobTarget separately.

Who can use JobTarget

You can open JobTarget from the Job List if you are:
  • An employer (including a Global Admin signed in as the employer)
  • A Recruiting feature admin (including a Global Admin signed in as a feature admin)
Hiring team members do not see the JobTarget action.

Advertise a job in JobTarget

Use this path to post a published job to JobTarget’s marketplace (including sponsored boards). First create and publish a job in Recruiting.
  1. Open Recruiting, then open the Job List.
  2. On a published job, open Actions (gear icon) and select JobTarget.
  3. In the JobTarget window, complete the marketplace posting for that job.
The window is titled Post this job to 25,000+ job boards via JobTarget. JobTarget appears only for published jobs.

Edit a job advertisement

Do not stop a JobTarget advertisement only to change job content in BerniePortal.
  1. On the Job List, open Actions and select Edit Job.
  2. Update the job and save.
BerniePortal syncs published job changes to JobTarget. Board-side updates can take additional time after that sync.

Stop a job advertisement

Choose the path that matches what you want to stop:
  • In BerniePortal: On the Job List, open Actions and select Mark As Closed. Closed jobs leave the organic job-board feed. Closing does not by itself stop every sponsored marketplace ad.
  • In JobTarget: Open JobTarget from the Job List and stop the individual ad(s) if you are not changing the job’s status in BerniePortal.
  • Delete the job: After a job is closed, open Actions and select Delete to remove it from JobTarget as well.

Organic Media Package

With Recruiting enabled, BerniePortal customers also get JobTarget’s Organic Media Package: published US jobs are automatically distributed to selected free/organic sites in the partnership bundle. You do not open the JobTarget marketplace to use that package.

Easy Apply

Jobs synced to JobTarget use Easy Apply. Basic applicant information (such as name, phone, email, and resume) and required candidate questions for the job sync back into BerniePortal Recruiting.

Performance tracking

JobTarget tracks job-seeker clicks and completed applications for jobs posted through JobTarget. Review that performance in JobTarget for the marketplace posting.

Expert support and guidance

BerniePortal users have access to a dedicated JobTarget Relationship Manager for recruiting strategy support. JobTarget also offers 24/7 support and guidance on job board selection and posting optimization.
