Hiring Managers, Hiring Influencers, and Their Capabilities

Each job in BerniePortal Recruiting has a Hiring Team. That team includes one Hiring Manager and optional Hiring Influencer(s). These are per-job assignments for employees—not company-wide roles. The same person can be Hiring Manager on one job and Hiring Influencer on another.

Global Admins and Recruiting Feature Admins assign the Hiring Team when creating a job (Hiring Team step) or when editing a job.

Each job has a single Hiring Manager. Hiring Managers can:

Each job can have unlimited Hiring Influencers. Hiring Influencers can:
Hiring Influencers do not close jobs, decline or advance candidates, or add candidates manually.

Adjusting Hiring Manager and Hiring Influencer email notifications

Hiring Managers and Hiring Influencers can turn on or off emails when a candidate applies to a job where they hold that role. This is separate from employer Email settings for interested parties (How to Configure Recruiting Email Settings).
  1. Sign in to BerniePortal as an employee.
  2. In the top navigation, select Recruiting.
  3. In the secondary navigation, select Settings.
  4. Check or clear:
    • Email me when a candidate applies to a position when I am the Hiring Manager
    • Email me when a candidate applies to a position when I am the Hiring Influencer
Changes save when you select or clear a checkbox.
