Hiring Managers, Hiring Influencers, and Their Capabilities


BerniePortal’s Recruiting feature ensures that the right people within your organization have the access they need to effectively manage and fill open positions. Two role types are available: Hiring Managers and Hiring Influencers.

Hiring Managers
Each position within BerniePortal allows for a single Hiring Manager
  1. Hiring Managers have the ability to:
    1. View open and closed jobs
    2. Close jobs
    3. View candidate applications
    4. Decline candidates
    5. Message candidates
    6. Submit internal feedback for candidates
    7. Edit job details
    8. *Adjust personal email notifications regarding applications
    9. Adjust a candidate’s status
Hiring Influencers
Each position within BerniePortal allows for unlimited Hiring Influencers
  1. Hiring Influencers have the ability to:
    1. View open and closed jobs
    2. View candidate applications
    3. Message candidates
    4. Submit internal feedback for candidates
    5. *Adjust personal email notifications regarding applications 
Note: The ability to hire and onboard candidates is reserved for an employer’s Global Admin and Recruiting Feature Admins. 

Adjusting Hiring Manager/Influencer Email Notifications
Both Hiring Managers and Hiring Influencers can customize email notifications for new applications
  1. Log in to BerniePortal as an employee
  2. Select the "Recruiting" tab in the top navigation menu
  3. Go to the "Settings" tab in the secondary navigation menu
  4. Check or uncheck the option to receive an email when candidates apply to open positions
