How to Edit Completed Onboarding Documents - Admin

Employees cannot change completed onboarding documents on their own. An employer administrator or Onboarding Feature Administrator unlocks a document with Request edit. Global Admins signed in as the employer can also request an edit.

To request an edit:
  1. Select Employees in the top navigation.
  2. Select the employee's name.
  3. Select Onboarding, then Current Documents.
  4. Open the actions menu for the completed document and select Request edit.
  5. Enter a reason in Describe the reason for the request, then select Submit & send.
The employee receives an email with your reason and a login link. Their status on the Employees list changes to Onboarding so they can log in, update the document, and resubmit it.

Custom onboarding documents can only be edited within 30 days of hire. If that window has passed, Request edit shows an error and does not unlock the document.

To view or download completed documents without unlocking them, see How to View and Download Completed Onboarding Documents - Admin. For an incomplete I-9 that needs employee corrections, see How to Complete Employer Portion of I-9 Onboarding Document.
