How to Edit an Existing Job

BerniePortal Recruiting lets you update a published job’s posting details after it goes live. Open Edit Your Job, edit each section with the pencil icon, then Save. Saved changes refresh the live career-page posting; applicants are not emailed when you edit.

You can edit and save a published job if you are:
Edit Job is not available for Closed jobs. To close a job, see How to Close Jobs. To continue an unfinished Draft, open Drafts on the Job List and select Edit Job—that resumes the create wizard described in How to Create a New Job.

To access:
  1. Sign in to BerniePortal.
  2. In the top navigation, select Recruiting.
  3. In the secondary navigation, select Job List.
  4. On the Published/Closed tab, open the job’s actions menu and select Edit Job.
You can also open the job (for example from Candidates or Messages), then select Edit Job in the left-hand navigation.

To edit a published job:
  1. On Edit Your Job, select the pencil icon on the section you want to change (Job Information, Job Details, Applicant Questions, Applicant Documents, or Hiring Team).
  2. Update the fields as needed.
  3. Select Save. Select Cancel to leave the section without saving.
Repeat for any other section you need to change. There is no separate Publish step when editing a published job—each Save updates that section on the live posting.

Hiring Stages do not appear on Edit Your Job. Stages for a published job are set when the job is created or published; company-wide stage templates are covered in How to Create and Edit Hiring Stages.
