Closing a job marks it Closed on the Job List, replaces the public posting with a closed page, and moves every application still Under Consideration to Declined. You can optionally email those candidates when you close.
You can close a job if you are:
Hiring Influencers do not see Mark As Closed.
To close a job:
- Sign in to BerniePortal.
- In the top navigation, select Recruiting.
- In the secondary navigation, select Job List.
- On the Published/Closed tab, find the Published job you want to close.
- Open the job’s actions menu and select Mark As Closed.
- In the Mark [job title] as closed dialog, optionally select I want to notify all unhired candidates that this job is closed and edit the message, then select Close.
The job’s Status becomes Closed. Applications still Under Consideration move to Declined whether or not you send the notification email. The public posting URL shows a closed page instead of the open role. There is no reopen action on the Job List—use Clone if you need a new posting.
