With Consolidated Billing, BernieBill groups all charges on one Consolidated Bill charged by BerniePortal.
Who this is for
Employers with BernieBill enabled and at least one billable provider, and Feature Admins who can access bills (assigned to all Benefits subgroups or all Billing Primary subgroups).
What Consolidated Billing includes
Open BernieBill from the left navigation under Billing. The links at the top of BernieBill show Upcoming Bill and Billing History.
BerniePortal-managed charges—such as BerniePortal, BerniePortal Subscription, COBRA/Pre-Tax, and Carrier Exchange—appear as a single BerniePortal provider on the bill. Carriers will each appear in their own subsection.
How charges may appear on your bank statement
While you will receive one consolidated bill, you will be charged separately for BerniePortal-related fees versus insurance premium charges. Following are the entities that will be charging and for what.
- BH Web Services, LLC — BerniePortal-related Fees
- BH TPA Services, LLC — Premiums
Both are BerniePortal entities. If either debit looks unfamiliar on your bank statement, contact billing@bernieportal.com.
How Upcoming Bill is organized
In the left navigation under Billing, select BernieBill, then at the top of the page, select Upcoming Bill.
The page title is Upcoming Bill — [month]. Subtitle copy explains that providers are combined into one consolidated bill charged by BerniePortal.
Under Cost Breakdown, expand a provider row to see:
- Billing Rules (opens the rules for that provider)
- Billing Period
- Last Updated on carrier rows when available
- Charge detail for that provider (feature subsections under BerniePortal; plan-type subsections under carriers)
If payment methods are missing, Upcoming Bill shows Add Missing Payment Methods and may show Autopay — Missing Payment Method on affected provider rows. Those links open Payment Methods in a new tab. See Payment Methods.
Individual invoices still generate
Your Consolidated Bill is not in place of receiving per-provider invoices if you want them.
Each month, BerniePortal still generates individual PDF and CSV files for providers that have bills. In Billing History, use:
- The Consolidated tab for consolidated invoices (this tab stays empty until the first consolidated bill generates)
- A tab for each provider that has ever had a bill for your employer, including providers you no longer use

Payment timing and Billing Rules
For BerniePortal charges on the consolidated bill:
- Bills auto-generate on the first day of the month
- When a payment method is on file, BerniePortal pulls the amount due by ACH within 24–72 hours
- PDF and CSV downloads are available in Billing History after generation
- BerniePortal does not prorate mid-month terminations or partial-month use for that month's charge
