Billing Rules

Stay informed and avoid surprises! The Billing Rules section provides complete transparency into payment schedules, adjustment calculations, and carrier-specific requirements—all housed directly in BerniePortal for instant access whenever you need it. 

To access:
  1. Log in to BerniePortal as the Global Administrator
  2. Select "BernieBill" in the top navigation menu
  3. Select "Current Bills" in the secondary menu
  4. Choose the specific benefit carrier from the left-hand menu to view their billing rules


The “Billing Rules” area outlines:
  1. Payment information- 
    1. Bill due dates for each carrier
    2. When bills become available for generation
  2. Adjustment guidelines- 
    1. How new hires are processed and billed
    2. Termination billing procedures and timing
    3. Age change impacts on premium calculations
    4. Other carrier-specific billing scenarios and their handling
