Time and Attendance Subgroup Settings - Timesheet Due Dates, Projects, and IP Addresses

BerniePortal’s “Time and Attendance” feature allows HR to streamline timesheet management and increase the accuracy of time reporting. To get started using the “Time and Attendance" feature, you’ll need to configure the following settings for each "Time and Attendance" subgroup:

  1. Timesheet Due Dates
  2. Projects (optional)
  3. IP Address (optional)

Employees must be placed in a “Time and Attendance” subgroup in order to clock in and out via BerniePortal. Check out these articles on how to change employee subgroups individually, or en masse

Timesheet Due Dates:
  1. Navigate to the “Time” tab in the upper navigation menu. 
  2. Select the “Subgroups” tab from the secondary navigation menu. 
  3. Select the desired subgroup you’d like to configure. 

  4. From the "Due Date" tab, use the "Timesheets due on" dropdown menu to select a desired day.
  5. Select “Save.”

Projects (Optional):
Projects allow employees to indicate how they’re spending their time while clocked in. Check out this article on how to add Projects.
  1. Navigate to the “Time” tab in the upper navigation menu. 
  2. Select “Subgroups” in the secondary navigation menu. 
  3. Select the desired subgroup you’d like to configure. 
  4. Once Projects have been added, check the desired check boxes under “Available Projects” to indicate which projects should be available for employees to select when they clock in. 
  5. Select “Save.” 

IP Address (Optional):
BerniePortal's “Time and Attendance” feature allows HR to restrict employees from clocking in and out based on their IP Address. 
  1. Navigate to the “Time” tab in the upper navigation menu. 
  2. Select “Subgroups” in the secondary navigation menu. 
  3. Select the desired subgroup you’d like to configure. 
  4. Select “IP Address” from the left side menu. 
  5. Enter the desired IP Address in the “Add an IP Address” field, then select “Add.”
  6. Multiple IP Addresses can be added. 
  7. Select “Save.”
