Agency Guided Onboarding for New Broker Partners - Step by Step Instructions

Use Agency Guided Onboarding to finish setting up a new agency (broker partner) account. Progress saves as you move through the checklist.

Who can complete this

The agency account holder completes Agency Guided Onboarding. Brokers and service team members do not run this checklist for the agency account.

Activate your account
  1. Open the email from BerniePortal with the subject Welcome to BerniePortal!
  2. Select Activate.
  3. On Create a Password, enter your New Password and select Submit Password.
BerniePortal then opens Agency Guided Onboarding (starting at Contact Information if you have not completed any steps).

Work through the checklist

Use CONTINUE SETUP to move forward and BACK to return. The sidebar shows Step X of Y (5 or 6 steps, depending on your agency edition).

Contact Information
  1. Complete Personal Information (Job Title, First Name, Last Name).
  2. Complete Agency Information (Agency Name, Street Address, City, State, Zip Code). Email is pre-filled.
  3. Select CONTINUE SETUP.

Logo (heading: Add a Logo)
  1. Upload a PNG or JPG logo (max 5MB) by dragging it into the upload area or selecting click to browse.
  2. To replace it later on this step, select CHANGE LOGO.
  3. Select CONTINUE SETUP.

Add Broker / Add Brokers
  1. Enter the broker’s first name, last name, and email address. Some editions require one broker; others let you add up to four (use ADD to add each broker to the list).
  2. Select CONTINUE SETUP.
Brokers receive an activation email (immediately, or after setup completes, depending on your agency edition).

Add Service Team Member / Add Service Team Members
  1. Optionally add service team members by first name, last name, and email. Some editions also ask whether the STM is Agency Level or Broker Level, which brokers they are assigned to, and whether they have Read-only Access.
  2. Select CONTINUE SETUP. You can continue with no service team members.

Email Notifications
  1. Select which events should email your brokers and service team members.
  2. Select CONTINUE SETUP (or COMPLETE AGENCY SETUP if your edition ends on this step).

Checkout (some editions only)
  1. Choose Pay with ACH or Pay with Credit Card and complete the required payment fields.
  2. Review the agreement (Download Agreement if needed), sign in the signature field, then select FINISH SETUP.
