What email notifications are available for the Carrier Exchange?

The Carrier Exchange includes two types of email notifications designed to keep you and your team informed about integration status changes and carrier messages requiring attention.

Status Change Notifications

The first notification alerts recipients when a Carrier Exchange integration changes status. This includes when:

  • An integration is turned on and enters Pending status
  • An integration becomes Active
  • An integration becomes Disabled

What these emails include:

  • Who updated the status (if applicable)
  • What the new status means
  • Whether any action is required on your part
  • Which employer, carrier, and renewal the status change refers to

These notifications ensure that all team members stay informed when integrations are configured, activated, or deactivated, even if they weren't the ones who made the change.

Unresolved Error Notifications

The second notification alerts recipients when there are unresolved error messages in the Manage tab.

Frequency: These emails send daily when unresolved messages are present

What these emails include:

  • The number of discrepancies that need attention
  • A summary of outstanding issues
  • A prompt to check the Manage tab

This daily reminder helps ensure that critical Failure messages and important Warning messages don't get overlooked, prompting timely resolution.

Who Receives Notifications

Agency and Broker Level Emails are sent to anyone designated on your team at the agency or broker level to receive email notifications. This follows the same notification preferences used for other BerniePortal email alerts.

Employer Level Employers with carrier integrations through the Carrier Exchange also have access to an email notification setting. They can opt in to receive daily notifications when there are new, unresolved errors in their Manage tab.

Setting Up Notifications

Email notification settings for the Carrier Exchange are managed in the same location as other BerniePortal email preferences. You can configure who on your team receives these notifications to ensure the right people stay informed.

Why Notifications Matter

While regularly checking the Carrier Exchange in BerniePortal is best practice, email notifications provide:

  • Redundant reminders so critical issues don't slip through the cracks
  • Team-wide awareness when multiple users need to stay informed
  • Timely alerts about status changes without needing to constantly monitor the platform
  • Accountability ensuring everyone knows when action is needed

Combined with regular monitoring in BerniePortal, these notifications help you maintain seamless carrier integrations and ensure issues are resolved promptly.
