What are the three integration statuses and what do they mean?

Carrier integrations in the Configure tab display one of three possible statuses. Understanding these statuses helps you know whether data is actively syncing with carriers and what actions you may need to take.

Pending

What it means: The integration has been turned on and configured with a group number, but it is not yet active. No information is being communicated between BerniePortal and the carrier during this period.

What you see: When you configure a new carrier integration, it automatically enters Pending status. The status displays with a pending icon in the integration table.

What to do: Continue managing eligibility communication manually with the carrier using your current process. You will not incur any charges for integrations in Pending status. Most plans become Active within 60 days of being configured.

Active

What it means: The carrier is successfully integrated and information in BerniePortal is being communicated to the carrier. The integration is fully functional.

What you see: The status displays with an active/success icon (typically green) in the integration table, along with the date when the integration became active.

What to do: Monitor the Manage tab for any carrier messages (Failures or Warnings) that may require resolution. You no longer need to manually communicate enrollment changes to this carrier—they will be transmitted automatically according to the carrier's sync schedule.

Disabled

What it means: The integration has been turned off. No outbound communication with the carrier is occurring, either because you manually disabled it or due to inactivity.

What you see: The status displays with a disabled/inactive icon in the integration table.

What to do: If an integration shows as Disabled and should be active, you'll need to toggle it back On and re-enter the group number to reactivate it. You'll also need to resume manual eligibility communication with the carrier until the integration returns to Active status.

Viewing Status Information

All three statuses are visible in the Configure tab. The status appears in the integration table alongside other key information like the group number, plan name, plan type, and renewal date. This allows you to quickly assess the current state of all your carrier integrations at a glance.
