How do I turn off a carrier integration?

You can turn off a carrier integration at any time through the Configure tab. This will change the integration status to Disabled and stop all data communication between BerniePortal and that carrier.

Step-by-Step Process

Step 1: Navigate to the Configure Tab

Go to the Carrier Exchange and click on the Configure tab in the secondary navigation.

Step 2: Locate the Employer

Find the employer whose carrier integration you want to disable. You can use the search bar or scroll through the list of employers.

Step 3: Expand the Employer Section

Click on the employer's name to expand their section and view all their configured carrier integrations.

Step 4: Toggle the Integration Off

Locate the carrier integration you want to disable in the integration table. Toggle the switch from On to Off.

Step 5: Confirm the Change

Once you toggle the integration off, the status will change to Disabled. The integration will no longer transmit enrollment information to the carrier.

What Happens After Disabling

  • All automatic data communication between BerniePortal and the carrier stops immediately
  • You will no longer receive carrier messages in the Manage tab for this integration
  • You must resume manual communication with the carrier for all enrollment changes
  • You will not incur charges for disabled integrations
  • The integration history remains in your Audit Log

Re-enabling an Integration

If you need to turn the integration back on later, follow the same process to toggle it back to On. You'll need to re-enter the group number, and the integration will go through the Pending status again before becoming Active.

Important Note

Before disabling an integration, ensure you have a plan in place for how you'll manually communicate enrollment changes to the carrier going forward.
