How to Open and Close Enrollment
To open enrollment:
Navigate to the “Benefits” then “Open Enrollment” tab.
Hover over the action wheel for the desired renewal date, and select “Open Enrollment.”
Opening Enrollment will:
Move eligible employees into the “Awaiting Elections” status.
Move the benefits listed in “Upcoming Offer” into “Current Offer”, and the benefits listed in “Current Offer” to “Prior Offer.”
This action cannot be undone.
To close enrollment:
Navigate to the “Benefits” then “Open Enrollment” tab.
Hover over the action wheel for the desired renewal date, and select “Close Enrollment.”
If this is the employer’s first Open Enrollment on BerniePortal, this action can only be completed once all eligible employees have made elections for the open enrollment period.
If this is not the employer’s first Open Enrollment on BerniePortal, this action can be completed without all eligible employees making elections. Learn more about auto enrollment here!
