How do I set up email notifications?

Email notification settings for the Carrier Exchange are managed through the same location as your other BerniePortal email notification preferences.

For Agency and Broker Users

The Carrier Exchange email notifications follow the same setup process as existing BerniePortal notifications at the agency and broker level.

Who receives notifications: Anyone designated on your team to receive email notifications will automatically receive Carrier Exchange notifications once they're enabled. This uses your existing email notification recipient list.

Two notification types to configure:

  • Status change notifications (when integrations move to Pending, Active, or Disabled)
  • Unresolved error notifications (daily summary when messages need attention)

For Employers

Employers have their own email notification setting specifically for the Carrier Exchange.

What employers can enable: Employers can opt in to receive daily email notifications when there are new, unresolved errors in their Manage tab.

This setting appears in the employer's notification preferences and can be toggled on or off based on whether they want to receive these alerts.

Important Notes

Automatic for team members: Once Carrier Exchange notifications are enabled, all users on your notification recipient list will receive them. There's no need to set up separate recipient lists specifically for the Carrier Exchange.

Consistent with existing notifications: The setup process mirrors how other BerniePortal email notifications are configured, so if you're familiar with managing email preferences for other features, the Carrier Exchange follows the same pattern.
