A Global Admin is an employee who can access all BerniePortal features and edit everything except the Account Owner. The Account Owner or an existing Global Admin (acting as the employer) assigns Global Admins under Global and Feature Admins.
When a Global Admin signs in, BerniePortal opens the employer account. From their employee login, they can also use Switch to admin account in the account menu.
To assign a Global Admin:
- Open Account from the account menu. For steps, see How to Access Your Account from the Account Menu.
- In the Settings sidebar, select Global and Feature Admins.
- Under Global Admins, select ADD AN EMPLOYEE.
- In the Name field, type the employee's name.
- Select ADD next to the employee.
Employees who are already Global Admins, and the Account Owner's linked employee account, do not appear in the search results. If the employee was a Feature Admin, assigning Global Admin removes their Feature Admin assignments.
To remove a Global Admin:
- Open Account from the account menu. For steps, see How to Access Your Account from the Account Menu.
- Select Global and Feature Admins in the Settings sidebar.
- On the Global Admin's row, open the actions menu and select Remove.
You cannot remove yourself while you are signed in as that Global Admin.
To switch between employee and Global Admin accounts:
- Open the account menu.
- If you are in your employee account, select Switch to admin account.
- If you are in the Global Admin (employer) account, select Switch to employee account.
For limited feature access by subgroup instead of full admin access, see Feature Admins.
