Compliance Subgroups

Compliance subgroups let you send different compliance notices to different groups of employees. For example, remote employees can receive a different security notice than office employees. Each notice is generated for a specific subgroup (or for all subgroups).

Employees must be assigned to a Compliance subgroup—during onboarding or later on their employee profile—for subgroup-based notices to reach them.

Who can manage Compliance subgroups

An employer with Compliance enabled can open ComplianceSubgroups to create, rename, and delete Compliance subgroups.

To access:
  1. Select Compliance in the top navigation.
  2. Select Subgroups in the secondary navigation.
To add a Compliance subgroup:
  1. In the Compliance Subgroup Name field, enter a name.
  2. Select Add.
To edit a Compliance subgroup name:
  1. In the COMPLIANCE column, select the subgroup name.
  2. In the Edit Subgroup window, update Subgroup Name.
  3. Select SAVE.
To delete a Compliance subgroup:
  1. In the subgroup’s ACTIONS column, open the actions menu and select Delete.
  2. Under What do you want to do with employees in this subgroup?, choose either Move all employees to a single subgroup or Choose different subgroups for each employee.
  3. Choose the destination subgroup(s).
  4. Select DELETE SUBGROUP.
Deleting a Compliance subgroup reassigns its employees first, then removes the subgroup.

Assign employees and notices

Assign employees to Compliance subgroups during new-hire onboarding (in Subgroups, under the Compliance field) or later from the employee profile. For changing assignments in bulk or on a profile, see Changing Employee Subgroups and Subgroups - Managing and Mass Assigning.

When you generate a notice, choose a Compliance Subgroup (or All subgroups). For the full generate-notice steps, see How to Add a New Compliance Notice.
