What are the main benefits of using the Carrier Exchange?

The Carrier Exchange helps you manage supported carrier integrations for your employers from BerniePortal. After a carrier integration is active, BerniePortal sends the applicable group, subscriber, dependent, and election information to the integration.

Who can use Carrier Exchange?

Carrier Exchange is available to General Agencies, Agencies, Brokers acting in Broker context, and Service Team Members acting in Service Team Member context.

Benefits

  • Manage supported carrier integrations: Use Configure to enable or disable an integration for an employer and update its group number. BerniePortal only shows employers with carriers supported by Carrier Exchange.
  • Send enrollment data through an active integration: When an employee profile is completed or updated, or dependent information changes, BerniePortal sends the applicable subscriber or dependent data for employers with an active Carrier Exchange group. It also sends election data for supported carriers with an enabled integration.
  • Review and resolve carrier messages: Manage shows carrier messages in one place. Failures block a member's enrollment and require immediate resolution; warnings identify potential issues that do not currently block enrollment.
  • Review Carrier Exchange activity: The Audit Log records integration and message-resolution activity, including the user, role, carrier, employer, and date and time.
