What are Surveys - Performance

Surveys in Performance let employers and Performance Feature Admins collect feedback from employees about themselves, their colleagues, or the organization. Responses can be reviewed by employers, Feature Admins, and—when applicable—managers and employees, based on survey settings and role.

Who can use Surveys

Performance must be enabled for the employer.
  • Employers and Feature Admins with Performance access create questions, build surveys in the Survey Library, send (generate) surveys, and review completed results.
  • Employees in a Performance subgroup complete assigned surveys and review their own completed responses under PerformanceSurveys.
  • Managers (employees who manage direct reports) can also review their team’s completed survey responses under PerformanceSurveysOthers.

What Surveys do

A survey is a reusable set of questions from the Question Library. After a survey is created in the Survey Library, generating it assigns that survey to employees in selected Performance subgroups and notifies participants to complete their assignments.

Surveys come in two types:
  • Organizational — Employees answer questions about the organization.
  • Individual — Feedback is collected about employees. When you generate an Individual survey, you choose who receives it:
    • 360 degrees — Employees complete it on themselves, their manager, direct reports, and peers.
    • Self-Evaluation — Employees complete it only on themselves.
    • Manager Evaluation — Managers complete it on their direct reports.
    • Manager and Self-Evaluation — Managers complete it for each direct report, and employees complete it on themselves.

Where to find Surveys

  • Employers and Performance Feature Admins: PerformanceSurvey Library (create and manage surveys), Question Library (create questions), and SettingsSurveys (visibility defaults).
  • Employees: PerformanceSurveysActive (assignments to complete) and Completed (their finished responses). Managers also see Others for team results.

Employee visibility of colleague responses

Employees can always see responses they submitted. Whether they can see what colleagues wrote about them—and whether respondent names are shown—is controlled by survey visibility settings. Learn more in Survey Visibility Settings - Employee to Employee.
