Termination Reasons

The “Termination Reasons” area will display default and custom termination reasons for your employer. Termination reasons will display upon terminating an employee in BerniePortal.

To create new custom termination reasons:
  1. Select the "Benefits" tab in the top navigation bar. 
  2. Select the "Settings" tab in the secondary navigation bar. 
  3. Select "Termination Reasons" from the left side menu.

  4. Enter the new reason in the "Reason for Termination" field, then select "Add." 

  5. Termination reasons will be available on reports.
  6. You can also determine which termination reasons are COBRA eligible by toggling the “Eligible for COBRA / MINI COBRA” box.
  7. Standard termination reasons in BerniePortal are as shown below.
