How to Override PTO Approvals
If an employee needs to cancel a time off request that has already been approved, the request must be rescinded by either an admin or the employee’s designated PTO approver.
To access:
- Log in to BerniePortal and select “PTO” in the top navigation menu.

- In the secondary navigation, select “Approver PTO Requests.”
- Under the “Employees” section, select the name of the employee whose approved request you need to cancel.

To rescind:
- In the employee’s PTO module, select “Requests.”
- Locate the request under “Approved” or “Used Requests.”
- Hover over the action wheel for that request and select “Rescind.”

- Once rescinded, the time will automatically be added back to the employee’s PTO balance, which can be verified in their Accrual History.
