"Other Members of Aggregated ALE Group" error (1095-C Error Only)

"Other Members of Aggregated ALE Group" error (1095-C Error Only)

This error is triggered for one of three reasons:
  1. One of the business names and/or EINs within the "Other Members of Aggregated ALE Groups" does not match what the IRS has for the business name and/or EIN.
    1. NOTE: If you believe the name and/or EIN are correct for the business, you will need to contact E-Services at the IRS at 866-254-0654 to confirm that the name and EIN they have on file for the business match what's in BerniePortal.
    2. To correct these errors, you will need to do the following:
      1. Log into the employer account in BerniePortal.
      2. Click on "1094/1095" at the top of the page.
      3. Click "Subgroups".
      4. Click on the name of the subgroup you are working to correct.
      5. Scroll down to "Part IV: Other Members of ALE Aggregated Group" and confirm the business names and/or EINs are correct:

      6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select "Corrected Form".
      7. Push "Save Changes".
      8. Repeat this process for all 1094C subgroups (if applicable) until you are finished.
  2. For question 21 "Is ALE Member a member of an Aggregated ALE Group?", you either selected "No" but needed to select "Yes", OR you selected "Yes", but you did not enter the business names and EINs in the "Other Members of Aggregated ALE Groups" section.
    1. To correct these errors, you will need to do the following:
      1. Log into the employer account in BerniePortal.
      2. Click on "1094C/1095C" at the top of the page.
      3. Click "Subgroups".
      4. Click on the name of the subgroup you are working to correct.
      5. Scroll down to "Part IV: Other Members of ALE Aggregated Group" and type the business names and/or EINs needed:

      6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select "Corrected Form".
      7. Push "Save Changes".
      8. Repeat this process for all 1094C subgroups (if applicable) until you are finished.
  3. For question 21 "Is ALE Member a member of an Aggregated ALE Group?", you selected "Yes", but the answer should have been "No".
    1. To correct these errors, you will need to do the following:
      1. Log into the employer account in BerniePortal.
      2. Click on "1094C/1095C" at the top of the page.
      3. Click "Subgroups".
      4. Click on the name of the subgroup you are working to correct.
      5. Scroll down and select "No" for question 21 "Is ALE Member a member of an Aggregated ALE Group?":
      6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select "Corrected Form".
      7. Push "Save Changes".
      8. Repeat this process for all 1094C subgroups (if applicable) until you are finished.
