After an employee 1095 form has been e-filed, any change that must go back to the IRS needs the corrected checkbox selected on that employee form. Without it, the form is not treated as a correction for e-filing.
Who can mark an employee form as corrected
Employers (with Benefits), and Feature Admins who can administer 1095.
To mark an employee form as corrected:
- In the top navigation, click 1094/1095.
- In the secondary navigation, click List.
- On the 1095-C Employees or 1095-B Employees list (whichever your filing uses), find the employee. You can use Search Employees. On 1095-C only, the -Filter Employees- dropdown also includes Corrected.
- In the Actions column for that row, open the menu and click Edit.
- Update the fields that need to change.
- Select Corrected form on a 1095-C form, or Corrected Form on a 1095-B form.
- Click Save Changes.
On the 1095-C list, you can choose Corrected in -Filter Employees- to confirm which forms are marked.
