How to View a Candidate's Application

Open a candidate’s application to review their profile information, answers, and documents for a job.

Who can view an application:

You can view an application if you are:
Hiring Managers and Hiring Influencers only see applications for jobs they are assigned to. Employers and Recruiting Feature Admins can view applications across the company.

To access:
  1. Select Recruiting in the top navigation.
  2. Open candidates using either path:
    1. Select Job List, open a job, then open that job’s Candidates list.
    2. Select Candidates to work across jobs. For an overview of that list, see Understanding the Candidates Area.
To open a candidate’s application:
  1. Select the candidate’s name (last name, first name).
You can also open an application from Search Candidates in the secondary navigation, or from the link in a hiring-team email notification. There is no View Application item in the actions menu.

Opening the application records a view and clears the NEW badge on that candidate’s name.

What’s on the application:

The application shows:
  • The candidate’s name and Applied for: with the job title (manually added candidates show (Manually Added))
  • A hiring stage timeline for the job (to change stages or status, see How to View and Update a Candidate's Status)
  • Profile InfoAddress, Phone, Email, and Application Date
  • Application Questions — answers to the job’s questions (manually added candidates show Notes instead)
  • Documents — uploaded files with Download
  • Benefits — benefit display settings for this applicant
In the left sidebar, use Application to switch between jobs when the candidate has more than one application. The sidebar also includes Job Details, Messages, and Internal Feedback.
