How to Reconsider a Candidate

Sometimes the perfect candidate comes along after you've filled a position, or you realize a previously declined applicant deserves another look. BerniePortal's reconsider feature ensures great talent doesn't slip away permanently!

To access: 
  1. Log in to BerniePortal as the employer or a Recruiting feature administrator
  2. Select “Recruiting” in the top navigation menu
  3. Locate candidates using either method:
    1. Job-Specific View: Select the relevant job from "Job List" to see all applicants for that position
    2. All Candidates View: Access the "Candidates" menu to see applicants across all jobs 


To reconsider a candidate:
  1. Find the candidate with "Declined" status in your candidate listing
  2. Hover over the candidate's action wheel and Select "Reconsider" from the dropdown menu

  4. The candidate's application automatically returns to the exact hiring stage they were in before being declined—no manual adjustment needed!
