Clone a Plan - Knowledge Base | BerniePortal

How to Clone a Plan

Clone a plan to copy its details, premiums, documents, and related settings into a new plan in Plans. Cloning a plan does not create or clone benefit subgroups—see Cloning Benefit Subgroups for that.

Who can clone a plan

Employers with Benefits can clone plans. Global Admins working as the employer can as well. Benefits Feature Admins can open Subgroups under Benefits, but they do not have access to clone plans from Plans.

To clone a plan:
  1. Select Benefits in the top navigation.
  2. Select Plans.
  3. Open the cog menu for the plan you want to clone.
  4. Select Clone.
Selecting Clone creates the new plan immediately and opens its Configure tab. The cloned plan is already listed under Plans. Adjust details on Configure or Premiums as needed, then select Save changes.

The plan you clone must already have rates. If it does not, BerniePortal shows Please fill in plan rates before cloning a plan. and opens the Premiums tab for that plan.

To create a plan from scratch, see How To Create Plans in BerniePortal. To change an existing plan without cloning, see How to Edit an Existing Plan.
