Dependent Attestation - Benefits

If toggled “on,” Dependent Attestation allows you to communicate and verify the definition of a dependent during an employee’s enrollment process for your records.

To view/edit Dependent Attestation Settings:
  1. Select the "Benefits" tab in the top navigation bar.
  2. Select the "Settings" tab in the secondary navigation bar.
  3. Select "Dependent Attestation" from the left side menu.
BerniePortal will auto-populate standard language, however, you can create a custom definition if the default does not comply with your employer’s standards. Just delete the current default definition and add your own!

You can always restore the original definition at any time by clicking “restore default definition” below the text box.

*Dependent Attestation and custom dependent definitions are not common among employers.
