Can I activate integrations for some employers but not others?

Yes, you can absolutely activate integrations for some employers while leaving others unintegrated. The Carrier Exchange gives you complete control at the employer level.

This means if you have 50 employers in BerniePortal who are eligible for carrier integrations, you can choose to activate integrations for only 10 of them, 25 of them, or any number you prefer. There's no requirement to implement integrations across your entire book of business at once.

Example Scenarios

Same carrier, selective activation: If 15 of your employers all use Blue Cross Blue Shield, you can turn on the Blue Cross integration for just 3 of those employers while continuing to manage the other 12 manually.

Testing and gradual rollout: You might start by activating integrations for 2-3 employers to familiarize yourself with the process, then expand to additional employers once you're comfortable with how the system works.

Priority-based implementation: You can prioritize which employers get integrated first based on factors like:

  • Relationship strength
  • Administrative complexity
  • Frequency of enrollment changes
  • Renewal timing

This employer-by-employer flexibility allows you to implement the Carrier Exchange at your own pace and according to your strategic priorities.
