"Applicable Large Employer Member" error

"Applicable Large Employer Member" error

This error is triggered when the "Name of ALE Member (Employer)" and/or "Employer Identification Number (EIN)" is different from information that the IRS has for the employee. 

NOTE: If you believe the name and/or EIN are correct for the employer, you will need to contact IRS E-Services at 866-255-0654 to confirm that the name and EIN they have on file for the employer match what's in BerniePortal.



To correct these errors, you will need to do the following:
    1. Log into the employer account in BerniePortal.
    2. Click on "1094C/1095C" at the top of the page.
    3. Scroll down to "Part I. Applicable Large Employer Member (ALE)" and confirm "Name of ALE Member (Employer)" and/or "Employer Identification Number (EIN)" are correct
      1. Push "Save Changes".
      2. Repeat this process for all 1094C subgroups (if applicable) until you are finished.
