On the page where an employee adds their dependent information, I believe that Spouse is not the right title. This individual could be a domestic partner and the employee should be able to indicate such on this page using a field that could be more easily mapped to the applications. 

It is also awkward when a single employee is asked "Spouse or Domestic Partner" because an app has these fields but they make no sense in the enrollment logic for a single employee.
